The semantic web has become somewhat of a buzz word for what has been labelled web 3.0. But what is it? And why should you bother? Watch this very instructive and entertaining video.

Web 3.0 from Kate Ray on Vimeo.

I think the semantic web, emphasizing the meaning of information,  is one of the most important topics to understand for anyone working with web developments. Many expert have labelled it the essential part of the socalled web 3.0.

This video was produced by Kate Ray, a journalism/psychology major at New York University. She interviewed a number of the foremost experts on this topic and produced this excellent video. You should watch it. The semantic web will be one of the most important forces on the web during the next years.

And my question: What impact will this have on the digital media industry?  How should media companies make sure they benefit from the semantic web?
