Video content will be created for mobile first

There is a revolution going on, both with regard to video content and the use of smart phones. Soon video content  will be created for small screens first and then later adjusted for bigger formats, predits Adobe’s CTO Kevin Lynch in this video interview.

I found this interview from Beet.TV very interesting.  Adobe’s CTO Kevin Lynch gives his views about where video content is moving, particularly with regard to the fact that smart phones sales is outpacing PC sales.

Lynch points out that video content is exploding. Currently producers are struggling to find efficient ways to present the content on all kinds of platforms and in different formats. Adobe’s goal is to create a platform which work across all types of screens, says Lynch.

Increasingly videos are being consumed on smart phones. Kevin Lynch predicts that we soon will see that video producers prepare their content for the small formats first. This is a total reversal of how it normally has been done so far. Typically producers think about larger formats first and then try to make it work on small screens. We will now see the opposite process more and more often as smart phones is developing into a major platform for videos.

- That is where more and more of the connetiveness is going and more people are engaging with content, Lynch says in the interview.
